US working closely with Zardari government: State Department

WASHINGTON: The US has said it is working closely with the Pakistani government, headed by President Asif Ali Zardari, and called the Supreme Court ruling on the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) an “internal matter for Pakistan”.

“This is really an internal matter for the Pakistani government. We continue to work closely with the government of President Zardari,” State Department spokesman PJ Crowley told a daily briefing on Tuesday.
