US defence bill sets aside $1.7bn for Pakistan

Strategic conditions on Peanuts:

On the one hand US has approved the CSF fund while on the other hand it has demanded unconditional visas for some Americans (read most likely the Blackwater operative) for releasing the said fund.

The condition is going to harm Pakistan’s effort against terrorists.

“WASHINGTON: The US defence budget, approved by Congress on Saturday, includes hundreds of millions of dollars for Pakistan. The $636.3 billion package, approved by the US Senate by an 88-10 margin, includes two items that will benefit Pakistan: the Pakistan Counter-insurgency Capability Fund and the Coalition Support Fund.”
